DESCRIPTION:Fifth Circuit\, Guardian Ad Litem Program \n\nPre-Service Volunteer Training. (Registration required)\n\n\n\nThe Guardian ad Litem (GAL) program is a volunteer based organization that trains persons\, to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children. The volunteer works as part of a team with a volunteer supervisor and program attorney to gather as much information as is necessary to make sound\, commonsense recommendations.  Although the child's safety is priority one\, volunteers must consider the importance of familiar connections\, friendships and the child's wishes and desires.
